It is quite fashionable to cruise along the river on the cruise ship of “Sanlongwan” and experience the poetic Foshan with a picturesque water rhyme gallery. To better Sanlongwan’s environment, CEGN has launched the overall solution of shore power charging----boom charging pile, which helps motorization of yacht in the bay area, create green eco-tourism and add brilliance to Sanlongwan.

In view of the characteristics of Sanlongwan Wharf and the demand of cruise ships, CEGN designed a boom-type charging stack to meet the shore power charging demand of cruise ships in two months only through rounds of discussion, research and technical tackling based on the actual application scenarios. Requirements for the charging device are quite high, as the battery capacity of electric cruise ship exceeds 500 kW·h, charging time must be short, docking position may differ and charging operation is unconventional. However, CEGN’s boom charging pile solved all these problems fully. With a full load power of 600kW, the device is equipped with 8 charging guns, which can meet the high-power charging requirements of 4 cruise ships simultaneously.

In addition to all functions of conventional land charging piles, the boom charging stack is also integrated with a number of industry-leading technologies: Modular design facilitates disassembly and installation, and satisfies all site sizes. 360-degree all-round rotation type poses no requirement for docking position of cruise ship. Automatic extension of charging gun wire facilitates operation. Several guns can work together for charging a yacht simultaneously, and the power flexibility can be adjusted arbitrarily. With stainless steel and layers of coating, the device could better resist corrosion.

The boom charging of Sanlongwan Sightseeing Ship is the first inland river shore power project in Foshan, and also the first project catering the concept of online tourism + green operation wharf in China. The successful implementation of this project symbolizes the further application of motorization from autos to cruise ships and successful application of zero carbon to wharf besides parks. As a kind of shore power charging technology, the boom charging stack provided by CEGN is more advanced in terms of economy and technology. The boom charging stack has satisfied charging requirements of electric cruise ship. It is believed that motorization will be applied to more wharfs and cruise ships in the future.
