On September 6-7, the 4th Conference on Innovated Global Supply Chain of NEV and ICV was held in Nanjing City. At the service chain theme summit on the afternoon of July 7, 2022 Research Report on the Development of New Transportation and Energy Infrastructure, jointly complied by Shenzhen CEGN Co., Ltd. (CEGN), ChinaEV100 and other industry organizations, was officially released.

As a key part of energy transformation, transportation motorization is the core way to realize carbon neutralization in transportation field. To address the bottleneck of energy supply for NEVs, the report put forward the concept and definition of “new energy infrastructure of transportation” from the perspective of integrated development based on the industry’s development status.

In the pursuit of safety, low carbon, convenience and economy, the infrastructure of transportation energy consumption realizes two-way interaction among traffic flow, energy source and information flow through in-depth integration with urban facilities, transportation and energy system, so as to offer systematic solutions for energy supply of NEVs.

7 types of “new transportation and energy infrastructure” system in China were determined in the report, including: Urban and rural intelligent slow charging network, high-power (fast) charging facilities, PV energy storage & charging facilities, new generation of power supply and battery exchange station, intelligent storage and distribution center of power battery, comprehensive energy station and mobile energy service facilities of “oil, gas, hydrogen and electricity".

In addition, as the hub for collaborating automobile, transportation and energy, energy transformation, green electricity trading and carbon management coordination under macro-policy and realization path level and the policy of carbon peak and neutrality are also one of key aspects studied in the report in priority. 

To promote the sustainable development of China’s new transportation and energy infrastructure, the report suggests that a national planning, construction and operation promotion mechanism should be established as soon as possible; speed up the introduction of special plans for new transportation and energy infrastructure; pay attention to the planning and construction of urban external traffic system; further improve the construction of standard system of new transportation and energy infrastructure; actively promote the pilot construction of new transportation energy infrastructure; explore the financial innovation mode of new transportation and energy infrastructure; provide policies and financial support for the construction and operation of new transportation and energy infrastructure.
